Position Overview:
The role of the Program Manager is to deliver and provide leadership in all phases of Trimble's asset based enterprise level life cycle implementations. Oversee the completion of requirement definitions, functional specification, database design, system and technical architecture definition, implementation, and unit system testing and development. Oversee performance of the installation and client acceptance of enterprise software systems, or system integration projects or engagements. Provide both management and technical leadership to project teams and customers. The Program Manager will coordinate and oversee activities of Project Managers and/or Senior Project Managers, along with Senior Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Implementation Consultants, and work closely with leadership and team members from other groups such as Development, Quality Assurance, Documentation, and/or other Third Parties as needed to build and deliver the required solution to meet customer expectations. The Program Manager role also encompasses building and strengthening customer relationships and assisting organizational sales efforts as needed. Experience delivering solutions utilizing both waterfall and agile methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple enterprise level projects and programs simultaneously
- Oversee / develop multiple project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Evaluate risk assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of multiple projects
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
- Oversees/facilitates all aspects of the development/implementation of a project or program involving department or cross-functional teams, & interfacing with all internal/external stakeholders throughout the project or program lifecycle (initiation to close)
- Estimate and coordinate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and between project teams
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their actions
- Plan and schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
- Where required, negotiate with other department or business unit managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
- Utilize project management tools to estimate projects and monitor planning and progress
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- 4 year degree in Business or Information Technology, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities and still meet aggressive schedules
- Ability to read and interpret communication styles of team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
- Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments/lines of business
- Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity
- Strong written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, time-sensitivity environment
- Experience in Business Process Improvements/Change Management
- Experience managing direct reports including performance reviews
- Technically competent with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and SharePoint
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree
- PMP certification
- Asset maintenance or management solutions Industry Experience
- ERP or enterprise level implementation experience across multiple independent business units
- Experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics GP or other Accounting ERP Systems
- Relational Database experience preferably Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with Client/Server and Web based application
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies as it relates to commercially available software packages
