Job Description

As a Project Manager on our team, you'll partner with the Business Card and Payments team at a leading bank, where you'll be at the heart of creating, validating, and improving processes that make data-driven products more efficient and customer-friendly. Your role will be key in driving process innovation, ensuring audit readiness, and fostering collaboration across multiple departments.
What You'll Do:
Process Creation and Validation:
- Develop and refine processes to align with both business goals and customer needs.
- Lead sessions with Business SMEs to ensure a clear understanding of processes, risks, and controls.
Metrics Design and Production:
- Design metrics to track how efficiently and effectively processes are working.
- Analyze those metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Data Analysis and Correction:
- Investigate and fix data issues within department systems to maintain accuracy and integrity.
Customer-Focused Process Improvement:
- Drive process improvements with a customer-first mindset.
- Clarify and understand the intent of processes, always ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority.
Continuous Improvement and Audit Readiness:
- Keep continuous improvement top of mind while working on repeatable processes.
- Develop processes that keep the Lines of Business (LOBs) in an audit-ready state.
Influence and Communication:
- Collaborate across different domains to push for process improvements and adoption.
- Use your presentation and storytelling skills to inspire process owners and drive results.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and detailed process documents, including procedures and diagrams.
- Document projects and processes by creating reports, presentations, business cases, and other relevant documentation.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Act as the go-to expert on processes when representing the department in meetings and projects.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a high-performing team, keeping them motivated and aligned with project goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager
- Strong facilitation skills: Confident in leading sessions with Business SMEs.
- Strong analytical skills: Able to spot, analyze, and correct data issues.
- Proven experience in driving process improvements.
- Skilled at creating and maintaining formal process documentation.
- Experience in banking, finance, fintech, credit or background/credit check industry.
- Familiar with project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science or related field
- Project Management or Scrum Certification
- Background in data analytics or engineering

- Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- A team player with proven experience working in hybrid environments.
- Leadership skills with a focus on motivating high-performing teams.
- A natural customer advocate, keeping the customer at the forefront of process improvements.
This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days onsite at the client location in McLean, VA.
