Project Manager

Under the direction of the ERP Transformation Manager, this position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring small- and large-scale projects with a high degree of collaboration with IT Finance. The Project Manager will partner with key business stakeholders to ensure a successful start-up and completion of a project under minimal supervision. The Project Manager is a main point of contact for internal Finance customers and should have a solid background in computerized accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Transformation Manager in developing project planning activities by defining overall project scope; creating and maintaining a consolidated schedule highlighting major milestones, and an integrated project plan.
- Monitor and hold teams accountable for their project commitments, remove roadblocks to their work; and leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
- Identify, track, escalate, and resolve issue conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Work with Transformation Manager to define project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, decision rights and clearly defined escalation path to be used as part of the Project Management Office methodology.
- Track and report project checkpoints and status while adhering to project policy standards.
- Proactively communicate the project's progress throughout project lifecycle, keeping stakeholders engaged and aligned on expected outcomes and provide leadership and key stakeholders with the information needed to make effective, timely decisions.
- Monitor project risks, identify gaps, escalate risks to leadership and recommend corrective or mitigating actions and areas for improvement based on your knowledge and prior experience.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in Project Management
- Strong knowledge and understanding of project management methodology, project dependencies, and timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment
- Proven experience using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Smartsheet, and Visio
Education / Experience:
- Accounting, Finance, or Business Bachelor's Degree
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or able to obtain within 1 year of hiring
- Organized and an understanding of the interdependency of projects
- Prior experience leading project team(s) to deliver timely results hitting milestones as defined per plan
- Prior experience in the insurance or auto industry a plus
- Prior consulting or public accounting experience a plus
- SDLC experience preferred
- Experience with Finance ERP system implementations as a Project Manager or Team Lead preferred
