What you will do
- The Sensing, Safety, & Industrial Components (SIC) Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for several new product developments and needs a highly capable and driven project management professional to lead and manage projects that bring these developments to market.
- You will be responsible for managing project planning and execution activities, coordinating resources, budgets and forecasts for product development projects.
- You will lead teams comprised of cross-functional resources for the development and implementation of new product design, manufacturing, and marketing strategies associated with new products, factored products, continuation projects, and new business development activities.
- You will also join us as we transform to an increasingly agile delivery model
Skills you have
- Accountable for the overall project success through the full product lifecycle, from concept through release. Success is measured by achieving the project goals on time, within product cost targets and quality standards, including meeting functional and performance requirements.
- Lead and manage the development and release to production of new products through the application of a stage-gate process and agile methodologies to achieve timely product release.
- Understand various technologies used in the product development, including their implications and associated risks. The ability to understand, plan, and articulate the various project elements is an important aspect of this role. Software, firmware, mechanical, electrical and hardware engineering are key elements of our products.
- Monitor and track project key milestones, timeline, and budget.
- Apply broad knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes utilized for product release and achieve target quality metrics
- Identify, mitigate, and communicate project issues, risks, and status to team members and stakeholders.
- Report to business management and senior management on progress while ensuring the project commitments are achieved. Maintain an in-depth understanding of internal business practices to include strategy, portfolio plans, finance, etc.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Travel 5-10%
Preferred qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years in a development engineering capacity associated with new product introduction, including experience leading projects within a cross functional, engineering focused, team environment
- Project Management certificate or PMP certification.
- Certification in one or more agile methodologies, e.g. certified scrum master
- Knowledge and experience with product software and/or firmware development for new product design including the application of agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and Microsoft Project
- Knowledge and experience with Jira, Jira Align and JAMA
- Knowledge of digital design architectures, microprocessor-based design, and embedded systems.
- Demonstrated project experience in technology integration and hardware/firmware architectural development.
- Experience with stage-gate processes for product development and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.
