Job Description
WinnCompanies is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to join our Boston Corporate Office.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of a recently awarded “Connected Communities” grant awarded by the US Department of Energy to Open Market ESCO, WinnCompanies’ Energy and Sustainability division. Connected Communities is a federally funded initiative to demonstrate grid interactive solutions at pilot properties. Open Market ESCO requires a Project Manager to oversee all aspects of its Connected Communities grant project, including, but not limited to: timely execution of the project objectives, managing project reporting, coordinating vendor contracts and deliverables, overseeing solar, energy storage, and energy efficiency related scoping, design, engineering, and implementation work, close collaboration working with colleagues, key vendors and consultants, leading site visits and data acquisition activities, and managing project budget and expenditures. The Program Manager will be an essential function working closely with Winn’s Vice Presidents of Energy and Sustainability, with support from Sustainability Coordinator and other internal departments. This position will be funded for at least 3 years
Responsibilities
- Develop, communicate and execute an action plan to successfully deliver each project objective.
- Oversee all aspects of DOE reporting, including monthly/quarterly admin reports, technical deliverables, and invoicing.
- Lead diverse vendor/consultant team to identify, scope, price, design, and construct GEB projects, which may include solar, energy storage, connected devices, and communications platforms for site-level and portfolio-level control and management.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of utility company coordination, including incentive and program compliance related applications and documentation.
- Oversee performance verification and reporting of project objectives and goals.
- Support closing requirements related to financing, consents, and legal reviews.
- Project management support such as utility data QA/QC.
- Support on-site staff in collecting/organizing resident paid utilities.
- Coordinate information gathering and project planning for special funding opportunities and energy efficiency investments, as needed.
- Support additional renewable/resilient energy project developments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering, planning, or policy related field.
- 3-5 years of related work experience.
- 1 year of supervisory/management experience.
- Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suites.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent leadership/coaching skills.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, work to deadlines using sound judgement.
- Comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Provide a high level of customer service to clients, visitors, staff and external customers.
- Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments.Â
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in building science, engineering, planning, or policy related field.
- Understanding of solar PV and energy storage systems.
- Experience in renewable energy development.
- Experience in building energy efficiency.
