Project Manager - Defense

Waltonen is actively seeking a Project manager to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitoring, directing, and controlling government service programs. Will be able to assist with the cost, schedule, and performance of the project. 
• Directing a focused program, including strategic planning, analyzing the program activities, and establishing goals
• Responsible for planning and directing a group of individuals and monitoring their work and taking corrective actions when necessary
• Ensures risks are properly managed and mitigated to avoid becoming issues. Risk management is critical to project success. Create a robust process for the identification, management, and mitigation of risk

Qualifications:

• The Project Manager must have strong practical experience in project management, which was gained by managing complex government-related projects
• Knowledge and handling of project management methodology and techniques
• Technical ability and understanding 
• Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management
• Requires strong leadership and people skills. As well as a strong management discipline and communication skills
• The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems
• Communication with customers and team members
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience with contract language; writing technical statements of work
• Familiarity with government IMS and CDRL 
• Expertise utilizing Microsoft suite including Microsoft Projects 
• Willingness to travel as necessary
• Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
