Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Design Operations, the Project Manager will support the Design Operations work that spans across the Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Design software organization. The Project Manager will focus on managing special projects, enhancing team communications and driving efficiency in our operations.

Our ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, independent problem solver and an excellent communicator. They will be a lifelong learner who embraces challenge, who is comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to changing priorities. They should exhibit sound judgement and an ability to identify new and improved processes for accomplishing program goals when necessary. Success in this role is measured by the ability to put plans into action, grow independence in problem solving, and build strong relationships.

This role requires a willingness and ability to execute the details with a "do what it takes" mentality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical, with an ability to explore and implement best-in-class communication strategies for the team. The candidate should have excellent relationship and networking skills and a deft ability to influence without authority.

Preference for Portland hybrid/remote candidates. Open to considering fully remote in Pacific Time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Manage specific programs/projects that may have a distinct beginning and end, or they may span across many years
  • Develop and maintain project plans and schedule
  • Assist team members in planning, estimating, and controlling tasks
  • Develop action plans to mitigate risk
  • Identify and implement alternative solutions
  • Deliver a variety of presentations in support of the program objectives
  • Monitor projects to ensure completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality parameters
  • Prepare and distribute various reports and updates on the status of the program to various audiences, including executive management, functional management
  • Facilitate team meetings to ensure time is spent wisely and outcomes are clear
  • Assist the DesignOps team in implementing standards, best practices, playbooks, and overall sophisticated operations
  • Own and manage team recognition, onboarding, and ongoing education
  • Contribute to planning and executing a strategic plan for improving team communications
  • Write newsletters, Sharepoint sites, and various other internal communications in partnership with stakeholders
  • Ensure clear and consistent information is distributed to stakeholder


Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with some experience in software or user experience
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on the development and execution of projects
  • Experience maintaining project plans, schedules, and project control tools utilizing standard PM software
  • Ability to anticipate, understand and actively mitigate project risks
  • Strong writing, reporting, and interpersonal communications skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Sharepoint, Wiki and MS Office tools
