Project Manager Design-to-Value 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.

As the Project Manager for Design-to-Value, you will be a strategic driver of product and process optimization, leading transformative initiatives to boost our market impact. Working closely with cross-functional teams, both local and global, you will prioritize high-value projects, manage execution from start to finish, and ensure lasting benefits to our portfolio's competitiveness.

Your responsibilities

• Lead idea generation sessions with diverse teams, focusing on value-driven initiatives that promise high market impact
• Drive prioritization and selection of projects, balancing potential benefits with effort for maximum ROI
• Take ownership of project execution, coordinating teams and resources to achieve milestones efficiently and on time
• Collaborate with business leaders and steering groups to ensure alignment on goals and measure results against value creation targets
• Partner with the global cost management team to validate cost savings, ensuring all projects contribute to ongoing competitiveness and market advantage

Your background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, with fluency in English and German
• Strong knowledge of GIS products and a thorough understanding of design, production, and delivery processes
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to motivate and lead project teams toward shared objectives
• Hands-on project management experience, especially in product or process improvement settings
• Familiarity with cost/value optimization methodologies like Design-to-Value is a plus
