Project Manager - Electrical Contractor

My client is a long-established, privately owned electrical contractor with nearly a century of experience delivering complex projects across British Columbia. Operating across commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial and infrastructure sectors, they provide full-service electrical solutions for their clients.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a high-performing team delivering complex projects. You will take full ownership of the electrical scope, overseeing projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing all electrical aspects of projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
• Overseeing projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Providing technical guidance to mitigate risk and drive cost-effective solutions
• Preparing and reviewing contracts as required
• Managing and assessing change orders
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members
• Conducting regular site walks to monitor progress and performance
• Building strong working relationships with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure aligned project delivery
• Coordinating and managing all stakeholders, including subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams
• Overseeing RFIs, shop drawings, and project administration
• Collaborating closely with all MEP trades to ensure seamless integration
• Supporting budgets, schedules, and cash flow forecasting
• Assisting in defining scopes of work and role responsibilities
• Monitoring M&E reporting to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Tracking labour and material costs across the electrical scope
• Undertaking additional duties as required

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager in electrical (M&E) field
• Must have worked on projects in North America
• Bachelors of equivalent level of education in mechanical or electrical systems is a big asset
• Open to site leaders looking to move into the office
• Have an in-depth technical understanding of electrical systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong relationship building skills
• Proficient with computer systems and programmes

Compensation

• Salary range $100,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
