Job Description
Title: Project Manager - Associate Director
Department: Business Solutions & Delivery
Location: Charlotte, NC or Old Bailey, London UK
Job Summary
The Business Solutions & Delivery (BS&D) team at Barings is seeking an experienced project manager, with a particular focus on ESG initiatives, located in the Barings' Charlotte, NC or Old Bailey, London office. The mission of the team is to execute high-quality project management to successfully implement & achieve targeted benefits. As a project manager within BS&D, this individual will be responsible for leading various activities along the strategic project life cycle including: scoping, planning/ design, execution, testing, delivery and closing for waterfall projects and may also be required to lead change as a Scrum Master or a Product owner as required. Barings utilizes both Agile Scrum and traditional waterfall methodologies depending on the nature of the initiative. This individual will liaise with all levels of associates and management including senior management in addition to third party vendors and consultants as applicable.
Primary Responsibilities• Directly responsible for managing a program of large, complex, cross-functional projects, with a particular focus on ESG• Responsible for quality project execution and deliverables in accordance with the Barings project methodology• Experience practicing Agile Scrum and Waterfall project management methodologies• Demonstrate strong communication, problem solving, and relationship skills to achieve positive business outcomes• May lead change as a Scrum Master or a Product Owner• Understand project costs & benefits and may manage individual project budgets• Anticipate risks and manages issue resolution and escalation effectively• Create & maintain project plans, schedules, and logs (issues, risks, business decisions, change requests)• Document meeting minutes and follow-ups
Qualifications / Requirements• Degree in accounting, finance or related business field• 5+ years project management experience• Prior experience with an asset management firm• A keen interest in ESG matters• Experience of Agile Scrum methodologies• Strong organizational and time management skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities• Attention to detail• Experience with Microsoft products: Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Other desired qualifications:• CFA, CAIA, CPA,PMP or other financial services designation• Previous experience within a project management or consulting organization• PMI or Agile certification preferred• Experience with Microsoft AzDo Boards
