We’re actively seeking a talented Project Manager I to join our Pacific Life Investments (PLI) Project Management team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Project Manager I, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by working independently and driving successful delivery of cross-functional projects that impact PLI. You will fill a role that sits on a team of 3 people. Your colleagues will include fellow project management, operations and investment professionals.

How you'll help us move forward: 

 

Project Management 

  • Drive the successful execution of projects by managing timelines, deliverables, and resources to meet business objectives. 

  • Ensure clear, consistent communication between cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to foster alignment and transparency. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to facilitate project coordination. 

  • Use project management tools to track progress, manage risks, and ensure efficient project execution. 

  • Proactively identify potential challenges and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. 

  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance team efficiency, data accuracy, and project workflows. 

 

Communication 

  • Support the execution of communication activities within the PLI organization including podcast productions, writing and coordinating communication content. 

 

The experience you bring: 

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in project/program management, including skills, techniques, and knowledge of project management methodologies i.e., Waterfall, Agile, etc. 

  • Able to manage time efficiently and be a flexible leader capable of adapting to new developments and shifting priorities. 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, ensuring consistent updates and collaboration. 

  • Experience building and nurturing relationships across teams, promoting a collaborative work environment. 

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timeline delivery and resource allocation. 

  • Experience with risk management and problem-solving, applying creative solutions to keep projects on course. 

  • Outstanding attention to detail. 

  • Proficient in software applications, specifically Microsoft productivity tools (i.e., Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field. 

 

What makes you stand out: 

  • PMP certification or other relevant study.  

  • Knowledge of investment concepts

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Mission driven self-starter who’s comfortable with ambiguity, and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative culture. 

  • Prior experience managing technical or IT-based projects, including system upgrades or process automations. 

  • Ability to identify and implement innovative solutions that support organizational initiatives.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$38.82 - $47.44
