Project Manager II

SUMMARY

The Environmental Project Manager serves as theprimary point of contact, overseeing environmental related projects including quoting,sample coordination, data calculation and report delivery. Expertise in environmental soil testing,appropriate ASTM standards, lab analysis, and customer service will beessential in delivering high-quality services and maintaining strong clientrelationships. The position requires flexibility in working hours, and couldinclude evenings, weekends, and holidays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as primary point of contact for quoting, coordination of samples to and within laboratory, and overseeing environmental related projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables, ensuring they align with client expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit quotations, lab work instructions, and any job-related data to client.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and issues to clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and address any deviations from the plan.
  • Coordinate and facilitate seamless workflows between core processing and laboratory operations, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring efficient coordination and timely completion of assigned projects.
  • Calculate necessary related data, prepare and submit final reports for each project.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, regulations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including laboratory technicians, managers, and supporting staff, to foster effective communication and streamline project coordination and execution.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and discussions to effectively communicate project status and gather feedback.
  • Take on the responsibility of managing additional projects within the energy industry, including but not limited to carbon capture, lithium, and oil and gas, ensuring effective project planning, execution, and successful outcomes.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field and 5 years of Project Management experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proven experience in managing environmental remediation projects.
  • Expertise in environmental soil testing methods and ASTM standards.
  • Previous experience in environmental lab analysis and core processing, preferably in a team lead capacity.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using project management software and tools to track progress and manage project documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Adaptable, proactive, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Proficient in preparing quotations, work instructions, and comprehensive project reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental analysis, core handling, preparation, and processing techniques.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide technical support with environmental analysis.
  • Demonstrates high level of dedication.
  • Ability to perform under strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Thorough understanding and adherence to HSE policies and regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITYAbility to analyze complex data, evaluate technical reports, and make informed decisions

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and core samples, up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling and manipulating core samples and equipment.
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for safety purposes.
