Founded in 2011, Betterez is a venture-backed B2B SaaS for sales and inventory management, helping to digitize the ground travel/transportation industry. Based in Toronto, we have clients, partners, and employees in 10+ countries. We collaborate with ground travel operators such as intercity carriers, mid and long-distance buses, airport shuttles, employee/corporate transportation, and transit agencies, helping further digitize their businesses to enhance the user experience for passengers and employees, increase revenue and operate more efficiently. We are adding a Project Manager (PM) role to our Customer Success team in Mexico to continue to help our customers set up, configure and best utilize the Betterez SaaS.
 

Role of a Project Manager at Betterez

  • As a key member of our Customer Success team based in Mexico City, the PM will oversee, while at times being hands-on in the software, the completion of new and existing client implementations in Mexico and LATAM throughout the entire lifecycle of a SaaS deployment project. From project planning, software configuration, any new feature delivery, data migration, and user acceptance, the focus of the Project Manager will be to complete SaaS implementations within time, budget and quality goals
  • The selected candidate will act as the primary point of contact between the client project manager and the Betterez project team, ensuring that the project meets the client's requirements, expectations, and goals
  • The PM will support our clients to deliver on their strategic business initiatives as they automate and modernize their sales, operations and data to increase efficiency, reduce costs, sell more and enhance their passengers’ experience


Key responsibilities of the role

  • Lead SaaS implementation projects at both small and enterprise-size ground travel companies 
  • Become proficient in the Betterez SaaS at a configuration level
  • Via being hands on and at times the singular Betterez resource, assist our smaller client’s in the set up, configuration and use of the Betterez SaaS
  • For larger clients, lead a Betterez functional and technical team to implement the SaaS in Mexico and other parts of LATAM
  • Engage client business and functional leaders, technical resources, and 3rd party partners to understand their requirements and effectively document and communicate those requirements internally to Betterez stakeholders 
  • Monitor and track project tasks and resource requirements during different phases of an implementation
  • Identify and assess project risks and plan for mitigation and contingencies
  • Work with the training resources to ensure requisite training is imparted to business users as part of project implementation
  • Partner with business functional areas to understand, document, and where possible, improve processes leading to efficiencies
  • Ensure proper communication within the project team; ensure project status, issues and successes are communicated as part of ongoing project governance
  • Work closely with stakeholders to assess value, develop cases, and prioritize epics, features, and stories while creating and maintaining a program backlog according to defined business value and/or ROI targets
  • Resolve complicated issues and escalations that may arise throughout the project lifecycle, providing leadership by example through exceptional customer service, problem resolution and communication skills


Key requirements to perform the role

  • Bilingual - the ability to communicate at a technical level in both English and Spanish
  • BA/BS/ BE/B-Tech degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, or related area
  • 6-8 years of overall IT Experience in managing business Applications; hands on experience in project phases such as set up, configuration, SaaS new feature development, testing, go live & stabilization and support
  • Solid foundation with project management software and tools such as JIRA or comparable
  • Knowledge and understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with REST API’s, webhooks - please see engineering.betterez.com
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and tasks at once; ability to prioritize issues and risks
  • Strong leadership and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders
  • This is a remote role that will often engage with stakeholders virtually; however, travel may be required for onsite client meetings, conferences, and/or workshops

 

How can you impress us?

  • Experience in the bus industry or general travel/transportation is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • The preferred applicant would be located in Ciudad de MĂ©xico
