Job Description

Summary:
The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking an individual with an extensive background in research study design and measurement of brain and behavior to serve as Project Manager of the Mobile Brain/Body Imaging (MoBI) Core within the newly formed Next-Generation Digital Therapeutics Program (NGDT).
The NGDT is being launched in partnership with the California Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative to innovate mental health therapeutics and treatment response monitoring tools for children and adolescents using emerging technologies (e.g., biometrics, augmented reality, virtual reality). Smartphone-, web- and metaverse platforms will be the primary focus of the program, with explorations into the potential added value of wearable devices as well.
The Project Manager of MoBI will oversee an engineering team dedicated to the implementation, augmentation, and testing of processing and feature extraction pipelines for various forms of data obtained from the brain (e.g., fMRI, EEG) and body (e.g., eye tracking, physiology, facial expression, actigraphy, motion capture, voice). Resultant pipelines will be used by other cores in the NGDT (e.g., Testing, Evaluation and Optimization Core, Product Teams, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Core), and published via open-source licenses. This will involve working with domain experts, scientists, product teams, and stakeholders to oversee the team in evaluating and augmenting existing pipelines for target data modalities, as well as creating novel pipelines when appropriate.
