Gerber is searching for a Project Manager, New Product Development to join our amazing team in Portland!
About the Role:
The Project Manager, NPD is primarily responsible for leading cross-function product development projects from initiation through close. The Project Manager, NPD is accountable to manage project activities along with managing team communication, risk assessments and reporting on project status. This role is highly collaborative across various functions where you will indirectly manage the cross-functional resources assigned to each project. The role is expected to lead complex projects under limited supervision and instruction.
What You'll Be Doing:
Manage product development project plans, schedules and action registers from concept development through initial production launch to ensure that projects are successfully completed from cost, quality and schedule perspectives. Ensure that key project documents are completed and stored in the project library. At project closure, capture and share key lessons learned.
Lead cross-functional teams in the identification, tracking, and management via appropriate mitigation plans of project risk. Report on risk as needed, facilitate technical project review meetings and present project risk and status at gate review meetings.
Monitor, track and report on project status, key performance indicators and any changes to scope using established tools - including the master project list, dashboard reports, regular project updates and gate review presentations.
Support the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement of an efficient and effective product development process, project management tools and techniques, and related documents. Ensure that team members understand and adhere to requirements, providing assistance and training as needed.
What You Can Bring to the Organization:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Planning; priority setting; relationship building; time management; informing; organizing; decision making
- Proficient with project management software; Microsoft Office Suite; Phase gate process
Desired Qualifications:
- Coursework or certification in project management
- Experience in consumer products or in a manufacturing environment
- MS Project, Agile PLM; Basic technical knowledge of product development and product manufacturing processes.
This position is out of our Gerber/Portland office and will be a hybrid role.
