Project Manager, Operational Readiness
Job Description
The USIS Operations team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to work directly with our Product Managers to ensure Operational Readiness for all New Product Innovations (NPIs) prior to launch. The role requires a professional who is resourceful, confident under pressure, an excellent communicator, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. The right candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
What you'll do
- Manage all aspects of multiple, concurrent projects of varying complexity and stages of implementation.
- Prioritize and drive projects to conclusion based upon business priorities
- Assemble the project team, identify appropriate resources needed, assign individual responsibilities, and develop a schedule to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Leverage project management methodology and expertise for project planning, resource management, system/technology/validation, testing and implementation planning.
- Leverage a checklist of operational tasks & deliverables to ensure new product operational readiness prior to launch.
- Identify and manage cross-team project dependencies, critical capabilities & critical path issues, helping teams mitigate risks in schedule and scope.
- Prepare project status and metrics reporting to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Liaise with project sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure the project is completed and meets operational requirements.
- Cultivate cross-functional relationships to gain understanding of operational processes, challenges & dependencies.
- Influence parties within and outside of operations regarding operational policies, practices, and procedures.
- Continuously seek out ways to create, improve, simplify, and unify processes, practices, and culture of the Operational Readiness team.
What experience you need
- Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors Science Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years in a program/project management role managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Self-driven with ability to manage through ambiguity, while identifying and solving problems with minimal guidance and limited resources.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology.
- A track record of successfully driving high-performing cross-functional teams on the execution of large and complex product related programs and projects.
- An engaging communicator and collaborator with the ability to influence, motivate, and drive cross-functional teams to success.
- Flexible, fast learner who thrives in a rapidly evolving work environment.
- Able to see the big picture and work with a team to prioritize requests, ensuring delivery alignment without compromising goals.
- Adept in critical thinking and understanding of business process, technology, systems, and tools.
- Comfort presenting to stakeholders at all levels of the organization including technical experts, business owners and executive level staff.
What could set you apart
- Knowledge of the Product Life Cycle
- Knowledge of Google Suite products
- PMP or other project/program management certification
- Experience with LucidCharts and Smartsheet
- Advancing and achieving outcomes through leadership, collaboration, and a willingness to listen and learn
- Experience building reports and dashboards
