Job Description
F&G is hiring for a Project Manager to join our Operations Implementation team.
POSITION SUMMARY
- This position plans and leads/oversees all aspects of projects that support and impact operational functions for Life Insurance and Annuities in the Retail distribution. Manages projects through full project lifecycle from concept to execution. Provides guidance and supports the identification and implementation of business solutions by working closely with business owners and project stakeholders. Leads a large project or multiple medium-sized projects by defining scope and objectives of the projects and working with cross functional teams to build and execute plans for implementation. Project focus areas will be on Customer Experience improvements, operational efficiency and process improvements, new Product Implementation, Compliance updates and BAU support of applications that support Life Insurance and Annuity operations. Responsible for ensuring consistent application of Project Management methodology and documentation.   Depending on workload and resource requirements may also assist other project roles i.e assist with data and/or process analysis.
Organization
The Project Manager position will be part of the Retail Implementation organization reporting to the Director of Operations Implementation.Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

 Project Management Duties and Responsibilities:
- Defines project scope, resources requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables and milestones; evaluates courses of action on an ongoing basis and selects the best alternative to attain project goals.
- Promotes leadership through collaboration, cooperation and communication across functional areas to ensure goals are achieved.
- Manages projects through all phases of the life cycle, including project initiation, requirements, design, development, testing, implementation and post implementation review.
- Partners with project stakeholders to define requirements, establish status reports, develop communication plans and create management presentations.
- Direct and coordinate internal and external project resources from all business units to help them meet deadlines and deliverables as well as ensure effective project launches.
- Ensure that communication plans are developed, documented and completed for project implementation.
- Applies knowledge of Financial Services Industry and processes to facilitate risk identification and identify possible action plans for mitigation
- Monitors the status of specific project dependencies related to the overall project incorporating such constraints into the overall plan.
- Identifies and collaborates to analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks.
- Define, communicate, implement and monitor quality standards on all project deliverables.
- Performance of project closure activities and operationalizing implementation for business owner handoff
- Seeks and implements continuous improvements and encourages the team to leverage new digital tools and ways of working
- Utilizes metrics and data to support project considerations
- Ensures Operational processes and customer needs are considered throughout the lifecycle of the project
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager in insurance/financial services
- Life/Annuity/Financial institutions industry experience
- Demonstrate knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques and identifying critical paths
- Demonstrate experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints
- Strong business analysis and presentation skills
- High level of expertise with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, facilitation and organizational skills
- Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes
- The candidate should be able to work independently and be able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
- Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business areas successfully
Preferred Requirements:
- PMP Certification
- Project Management managing life insurance and annuity product implementation on third party platforms (i.e. SAAS platforms)
- Experience with WorkOtter or other project management software
- Vendor management experience
- Sharepoint experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills. Must be extremely detail oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in other Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Able to perform in a fast-paced production environment while addressing multiple projects and responsibilities
- Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and is able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
- Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business areas successfully
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
