Project Manager - Sage X3

Role Description

Mission:  

The role of Project Manager will be to successfully manage multiple complex ERP implementations.  This role will be responsible for maintaining overall control of the project schedule, budget, and scope.  The Project Manager will possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to build strong relationships and alliances with key stakeholders.

Objectives (Key Outcomes):

• Manage multiple simultaneous ERP implementations and customer engagements.
• Team with cross-functional Professional Service Managers to ensure success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall control of the project schedule, budget, and scope.
• Plan, organize, lead, and monitor the activities of the project team.
• Build project plans and schedule resources.
• Ensure that project plans and work products are based on approved and agreed-upon requirements.
• Ensure that sufficient resources are available for executing all project activities.
• Prepare the management deliverables and use these deliverables to conduct the project.
• Notify the Client Steering Committee and the Client Project Manager of open issues and submit recommendations to resolve them.
• Maintain regular contact with the Client Project Manager, providing the status of project progress.
• Track the status of deliverables and any decisions made regarding project change requests and outstanding issues.
• Ensure that commitments and changes to commitments resulting from the requirements are negotiated with impacted groups.
• Update the appropriate documents and project work plan to reflect changes in requirements and commitments.
• Ensure Professional Services Managers are up to date and informed as it relates to their customers, including facilitating engagement when appropriate.
• Works closely with the Professional Services Team to ensure solution delivery and consulting engagements achieve expected results and drive customer satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned.
• PMP Certification or the ability to obtain PMP certification within the first 12 months in the position.

Education and Experience

Required:

A four-year degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, MIS, or equivalent, is required.

Three or more years of project management experience required.

Proven success in software project implementation and deployment.

Strong collaboration skills.

Professional demeanor.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Flexibility with task assignments, priorities, and the work environment.

Willingness to travel 25 to 50 percent.

Detail oriented, strong analytical, numerical, planning and reasoning abilities.

Ability to work independently and on a team.

Eagerness to learn and improve.

Preferred:

Sage X3 experience is preferred.

Manufacturing and/or distribution software implementation experience is preferred.

Prior professional services or consulting experience is preferred.

Entrepreneurial attitude, including self-motivation and self-direction, are helpful in this role.

Open-mindedness with a desire to learn is preferred.

The ability to be a quick thinker and a creative problem solver are preferred.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Constantly requires sitting or standing at workstation, vision, hearing, talking, and fine dexterity. Occasionally requires walking, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.  The general compensation range for the Project Manager role is $80,000 to $120,000 per year.
