Project Manager - STEM

Position: Project Manager - STEM/AI

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with a strong background in data handling, project management, and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have a BS in a STEM field (or equivalent job experience), excellent organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and agile methodologies. Experience in the pulp and paper industry and knowledge of plant data historians is a significant advantage.

• Project Coordination and Sprint Planning (40%)
• Plan and organize biweekly sprints with AI vendors.
• Coordinate multiple project timelines to ensure successful sprint completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans.
• Communicate with stakeholders to identify and resolve project roadblocks.
• Data Handling and Organization (30%)
• Clean and organize raw data sets received from customers.
• Submit organized data in standard templates for project use.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Timeline Development and Communication (30%)
• Develop project timelines for multiple ongoing tasks.
• Communicate project status, updates, and any issues to stakeholders.
• Utilize data analytics and statistical knowledge to inform project decisions.
• Translate complex data insights into understandable information for non-technical stakeholders.

• BS in a STEM field preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
• Equivalent job experience can supplement a different degree background.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project management.
• Proficiency in data handling and Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Familiarity with principles of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Knowledge and experience with agile methodologies and principles.
• Understanding of the pulp and paper process and factors affecting plant profitability.
• Understanding of plant data historians, including major players, data formats, and data extraction.
• Basic understanding of data analytics and statistics with the ability to communicate these concepts effectively.

• AWS certifications are a plus.

• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent data handling and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel and data organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
