We provide flame and gas detection and hazard-mitigation systems for high-risk processes and industrial operations. Det-Tronics products and solutions include flame detectors, combustible gas detectors, toxic gas detectors, and explosion-proof smoke detectors, as well as an addressable safety controller and much more. Det-Tronics knows critical industrial operations in high-hazard environments require high-quality fire and gas safety solutions

About this role

Det-Tronics is looking for an experienced Project Manager who can help drive operational excellence by managing strategic, cross-functional projects across the supply chain areas. Partner closely with S&OP, Supply Chain and Operations, and manage projects to increase the overall performance of the global supply chain operations. Take the lead on end-to-end supply chain strategic sourcing projects i.e., development of casting or electronics components at new suppliers. Take responsibility to drive supplier selection and components development on our New Product Development (NPD) projects. The key deliverable for the role is implementation of projects on time and right first-time developments. The focus will also be to work on continuous process improvements at our suppliers' end.

This is a hybrid role based out of Minneapolis MN or Houston TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, improve and implement supply chain project/process
  • Project focus in i.e., purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply & material planning and scheduling
  • Lead NPD Supply Chain Management activities. i.e., technical review with suppliers, RFQ process, early supplier involvement at the design stage, projects awarded to suppliers for development
  • Work with cross-functional team and Sourcing/ Commodity Managers to finalize suppliers on NPD projects
  • Ensure direct material meet cost, quality and timing expectation on various NPD projects
  • Drive and lead complex global cross-functional supply chain projects
  • Lead and drive project meetings, define project activities (cross-functional), ensure achievement of project milestones
  • Identify risks and establish risk management plans, communicate with project team members and follow up on short-term and long-term solutions
  • Manage and implement strategic initiatives, track progress using KPI scorecards, presentations to executives, stakeholders, and support resources
  • Lead project cadence reviews for accountability and timely reporting of deliverables

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale supply chain projects, process improvement initiatives or NPD projects

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business
  • MBA
  • Project Management Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Sound English communication (verbal and written)
  • Experience in large, matrixed organizations and cross-cultural/regional environment
  • Lead initiatives in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience in casting, electronics, PCBA, and turn parts
  • Inter-personal skills and independent worker
  • Problem solver, able to address complex challenges in a fast-moving environment
  • Business acumen and analytical skills
  • Microsoft programs, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
