Description

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join INNIO Engineering PMO & Operations Team. As a Project Manager for Technical Publications, you will manage program timelines, budgets, and deliverables through coordination with outside contractors for creation and management of Technical Publications. This role resides within the engineering organization and provides support for all INNIO Waukesha Gas Engine product lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Working with Engineering Operations Leader and other stakeholders, captures project requirements and objectives, initial estimation of budget and captures potential project risks.
  • Working with Engineering Operations Leader and Engineering Functional Leaders, develops and maintains detailed budget and resource plans.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project Work Breakdown Structures and integrated Engineering schedules.
  • Day on day project execution against pre-defined integrated Engineering schedule. Ensures on-time project deliverables, within budget. Continued identification, treatment, and retirement of project risks.
  • Precise Management of financials, applying controlling actions where required.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Reports project status to Senior Leadership.
  • Facilitates communication between departments including standard meeting structure to ensure action tracking and issue resolution.
  • Ability to form and drive a cross-functional team towards achieving the plan
  • Ensure that set technical publication targets are reached by collaborating with Product Line managers and engineering platform leaders to develop robust budgets and timelines, tracking them through project completion including creation of Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to update technical documentation requirements for Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Clearly communicate program status, issues, risks, plans, etc. to senior management via the Tollgate process
  • Coordinate and manage development of Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Parts Catalogs, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for new product and new service kit offerings
  • Coordinate and manage manual corrections, updates and addendums as needed
  • Coordinate translation requests to support new unit sales requirements
  • Maintain/update catalog of Overhaul & Maintenance, Parts Book, and Repair & Overhaul manuals for active product lines
  • Develop Service Bulletin content, consolidating technical and commercial input from multiple sources and coordinate appropriate handoffs as designated in Service Bulletin Process
  • Project manage creation of electronic help documentation to aid in on-site diagnostics i.e.: Support Sourcing requests for print file uploads to support manual fulfillment request for new engine shipments and service parts, internal uploads to Customer Portal, etc.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Certificate or Degree for Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or closely related field
  • 3+ years' experience in project management or experience with technical publication or training development, working knowledge of customer facing documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of Project Management tools (Smartsheet, ServiceNow, MS Project, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and make priority calls
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent knowledge of English language
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated project management, analytical, and strategy development skills
  • Ability to collaborate and manage external supplier's deliverables
  • Organizational skills required to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; integrative team working style.
  • Approximately 5% travel may be required

Desirable:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Systems Engineering process/methodology & technical understanding of reciprocating engines and components
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality, and assembly processes with experience working with the associated functional organizations
  • Experience in engineering quality control and continuous improvement
