SUMMARY
The Project Manager reports to the Manager - Global Project Management Office and is responsible for leading multiple initiatives delivering solutions to the business. Will be responsible for developing, or consulting with Kids II leaders to produce Project Charters, business cases and ROI models, and project plans for cross-functional and key departmental process improvement and growth projects. They have overall performance responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management. They are responsible leveraging change management best practices for establishing effective communication and training plans in coordination with the project team and subject matter experts. Project Managers will also have responsibility for individual and PMO Team operational objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communication:
- Engaged and able to operate as an independent professional.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate positively and effectively within the PMO team, project teams and within cross-functional groups.
- Ability to articulate project objectives, progress, and issues across all levels of Kids II including the Executive Team.
Problem Solving:
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Assesses variances from the project plan, gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives.
Accountability:
- Participates in overall departmental program planning.
- Supports the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management
- Contributes to the development, management, and controls of KPI's
- Defines and plans project tasks including preparing a project plan
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans
- Define requirements in support of budget management and all processes necessary towards the implementation of projects
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
- Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
- Ability to set priorities and manage the delivery of multiple projects concurrently
- Team player with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years' professional knowledge and experience directly related to Project Management.
- Experience must include 500 hours of active service as a Project Manager, or Project Owner for one or more business-related projects.
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems or equivalent work-related experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- PMP certification preferred or actively seeking same.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, intermediate or above skills with MS Excel & MS PPT preferred
- A candidate with experience with one or more project management platforms (i.e. MS Project, Workfront, SmartSheet, etc.) is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The team member frequently is required to sit; have flexible use of hands; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and taste or smell.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 - 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
