Job Description

Applied Research Solutions is seeking Project Support Engineers to work on-site at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. This is a temporary, full-time position starting in May/June and estimated to last 9-10 weeks.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Personnel filling this position shall develop, implement, maintain and enhance desktop-based applications (for Windows, Linux, and MacOS) in support of AFIT Center for Directed Energy (AFIT/CDE) projects, education, and research. Work with CDE affiliated faculty, staff researchers, and students to enhance atmospheric and laser propagation modeling and simulation for their education and research efforts. Complete field testing and research initiatives outlined by mentors. Personnel will develop models and testing using high performance computing machines. Will complete other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Technical Experience Required:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Personnel supporting this requirement must have and maintain eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC), including favorable completion of a National Agency Check.
  • Experience and introductory working knowledge with MATLAB and C++ preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Experience writing technical documents, documentation, and papers.
  • Proficient in technical writing and effective verbal communications.
  • STEM degree seeking students desired.
