Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE: 

Contribute and be part of our journey in building up a strong and sophisticated financial Department. Collaborating frequently with the CFO, the Project Managers, as well as the rest of the Leadership Team, the successful candidate role in owning the finance controlling activities will be critical to driving our mission forward and helping scale the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  •  Lead in the preparation of the Company’s annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and mid- to long-term financial projections with a focus on project-specific financial planning.
  • Analyze and provide ongoing explanations for actual versus budget & forecast variances, collaborating with the CFO to recommend corrective actions at both the business unit and project levels.
  • Prepare specialized and customized reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends related to project finances.
  • Strengthen and uphold robust accounting controls to ensure regulatory compliance, as well as the completeness, accuracy, and exhaustiveness of financial information and data.
  • Work alongside the CFO to conduct research and analytical studies, producing reports including profitability analyses, return on investment analyses, cost analyses, and comparative financial data to support findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the monthly reviews of projects, gaining insights into their financial environment, profitability, risks, and opportunities.
  • Monitor and ensure the effective implementation of financial actions decided upon during monthly project reviews, including adjustments to project budgets, management of financial claims, addressing project unbilled statuses, and resolving cash collection issues.
  • - Support the monthly closing process by establishing a collaborative interface with the operational team, particularly Project Managers, reviewing and challenging project financial key performance indicators, ensuring revenue recognition compliance, and documenting and communicating budget variances.
  • Demonstrate multitasking abilities while adhering to internal and external operational and financial deadlines.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of intercompany reconciliation matrices prepared by the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Group deadlines.
  • Responsively address requests from External Auditors and the Group Finance Department, ensuring timely and thorough responses.
  • Note: The above tasks are not exhaustive and may involve additional ad hoc or repetitive tasks within the finance controlling scope.
  • Additional tasks might be assigned by the CFO depending on work needs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/Finance or economics is required. Master’s degree or additional professional designation would be appreciated

- 5 – 7 years of accounting, audit and financial experience is required, with a demonstrated familiarity with the finance controlling tasks and approaches (budgeting, financial forecasts and projections, analytical review, etc.),

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
