Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with sales and operational teams to prepare detailed customer-focused budgets where responsibilities include driving the proposal process, drafting initial budgets in collaboration with functional subject matter experts (SMEs), securing vendor/partner bids, incorporating the budget in to the proposal text document, and driving rebids for management review and approval.
  • Maintain tracking for all proposals in development 
  • Develop RFP checklist for each proposal to ensure all requested services are identified and vendor bids secured 
  • Work with BD to determine budget and proposal type and establish timelines for review and input by SMEs. 
  • In collaboration with SMEs, review RFP to identify necessary information and potential inconsistencies in RFP requiring client clarification, and collate questions for Sponsor consideration 
  • Prepare initial budgets with input from functional leads and update with management input 
  • Finalize proposals for management approval 
  • Drive revision of budgets for rebids 
  • Participate in Sales-to-Operations hand-off of awarded business 
  • Develop relationships and processes with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to streamline the proposal process 
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of processes and controls for proposal budget development, reviews, and approvals  
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of modifications to internal pricing tool based on industry standards, internal SOPs, and reviews with functional leads and Executive management 
  • Based on capacity, may assist Proposal Writer or delegate in the preparation of initial proposal text with input from clinical operations 
  • Participate in budget calls with sponsor as needed 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years (3 or more years preferred) of experience of budget development experience in the CRO industry 
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, graphing, etc) 
  • Experience in clinical development beneficial, but knowledge of the development process required 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and manage stakeholders needs and expectations
