Job Description

We are currently seeking a Proposal Writer to join our team. The perfect candidate will demonstrate outstanding writing skills, possess technical expertise, and deeply understand the defense industry. As a Proposal Writer, you will drive our organization's success by creating captivating and convincing proposals. Your ability to showcase our capabilities effectively and secure new business opportunities will be instrumental in our growth.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, business development professionals, and technical staff, to gather information and understand project requirements.
• Develop, write, and edit persuasive and high-quality proposals, statements of work (SOWs), request for proposals (RFPs), and other business documents tailored to meet the needs of government agencies and defense contractors.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer needs, ensuring the proposals are aligned with customer requirements.
• Translate technical concepts, complex data, and technical specifications into clear and concise language easily understandable for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure compliance with proposal guidelines, including formatting, style, and submission requirements.
• Review and analyze solicitations and contracts, identifying key requirements, evaluation criteria, and deliverables to respond to customer needs effectively.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams to gather accurate and relevant information for proposal development.
• Develop and maintain a repository of standardized proposal content, templates, and reusable sections to streamline the proposal development process.
• Participate in proposal strategy meetings and contribute innovative ideas to improve win rates and proposal quality.
• Conduct post-proposal debriefings to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and incorporate lessons learned into future proposals.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

• Strong background and experience in the military with IT, Acquisitions, or Intel-related MOS fields.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional research and analytical skills to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposal efforts simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with proposal management software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality proposals.

Nice to Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as English, Communications, Business, or a technical discipline) or equivalent work experience.
• Proven track record of successful proposal writing and business development within the defense industry.
• Solid understanding of government procurement processes, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

• Use of hands to manipulate keyboard and mouse
• Ability to view a computer monitor in a software/system engineering context for long periods during the work day
• Must be able to remain stationary 50% or more of the time
