Prototype Lab Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Peloton Prototype team is looking for a part-time Prototype Lab Technician to help us bring ideas to life. This role is based in our Prototype Lab and will assist in additive manufacturing (3d printing) of parts and assemblies supporting Industrial Designers and Mechanical Engineers working on sustaining and new product development projects. The Prototype Lab Technician is comfortable working in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment and is a hands-on problem solver with a desire to learn what they don’t already know. All applicants should be able to easily follow instruction, work independently, and think quickly. This is an in person role with on-site responsibilities.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
● Support post processing, sanding, and finishing of 3D prints
● Maintain 3D printing equipment and material inventory
● Provide technical assistance including: assembling & tearing down equipment, prototypes and mechanical assemblies.
● Help maintain shop facilities and housekeeping.
● Operate equipment and power tools following safety protocols.
● Assist in maintaining and organizing tool and material libraries.
● Communicate technical information through various media including: clear and concise language, short and professional email.
● Demonstrate a desire and ability to tackle new challenges with enthusiasm and focus.
● Adhere to high expectations placed on teamwork along with the ability to work professionally with fellow team members and other departments within Peloton.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON
● 1-3 years experience working in a shop environment.
● Knowledge of FFF and SLA 3D printing processes.
● Patient and detail oriented, especially when it comes to sanding and finishing.
● You have a problem solving and practical approach to challenges.
● Have experience with hand tools, power tools and stationary equipment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Good organizational skills, safe practices and outstanding work habits.

BONUS :
● Hands-on 3D printing and finishing experience is preferred.
● Fabrication experience with ability to complete basic fabrication tasks under direction.
● Ability to check finished work based on measurements and critical dimensions.
● Understanding of CAD software is a plus.
● Able to communicate through drawing and digital Images.

Base Salary: $25/ Hr
The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
