Job Description
The Provisioning Specialist will be responsible for timely non-complex order entry and provisioning of Customer, IXC and ILEC facilities and trunk groups to achieve company goals and customer timelines. The Provisioning Specialist performs all functions and acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to overall provisioning. The Provisioning Specialist will be responsible for timely order entry and provisioning of all Backbone, ILEC facilities and trunk groups to achieve company goals. The Provisioning Specialist will work with Network Implementation Managers, Network Planning, Network Cost, Equipment Engineering and OPS to optimize the network, project manage grooms, outline requirements for more complex projects and expand Sinch Voice's footprint.
Customer Operations Functions
- Responsible for sending and receiving ASR's or spreadsheets to establish, augment, groom and disconnect customer trunk groups and facilities.
- Responsible for Customer, ILEC and IXC provisioning of non-complex orders including GigE, DS3, DS1 & DS0 circuits.
- Provide detailed and accurate ordering and design information with overall coordination and problem resolution to successful test and turn-up of all circuits in a timely manner.
- Understand, apply specific regional rules and requirements for vendors, LECs, IXCs under regional area(s) of responsibility.
- Work closely with Implementation Specialists, Network Planning & Cost, Project Management, Switch Translations, Operations, Equipment & Switch Engineering along IXC, ILEC, CLEC, Carriers Access Providers, and MMR providers as required.
- Resolves any obstacles quickly and effectively with appropriate internal and or external personnel as required for issues that arise at times during the provisioning and or test and turn up process of circuits, entering all required and accurate information in automated ordering, circuit design and inventory system
- Validates CAP to be used for on-net customer DS3 orders from provider standard pricing. To identify, order and design using lowest cost or diverse route when required and synchronizing order dates for the turn up with ILEC, CLEC, CAP and customers for all level of circuits.
- Work with Network Planning & Cost to optimize network and for facility pricing, project manages grooms and or network reconfigurations.
- Strong communication, documentation and data integrity required for all circuit design and order information.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree with business major or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience working in telecommunications industry in a switched network provisioning environment. Complete ASR (Access Service Request) order processing, circuit design, cross-reference inventory management, and accurate system-based record keeping.
- Work directly with Carrier Access Providers, IXC, ILEC, and independent carriers as well as MMR providers, and re-sellers
- Strong understanding of Central Office infrastructure, colocation, carrier hotels, network architecture, transport interconnection, equipment, Ethernet, TDM & IP networks and services
- Working knowledge of DS0, DS1, DS3, OC-X, Ethernet, IP Transit, GigE, IP, cables, fiber, 3x1, 1x0 DACs, vendor transport equipment and device interface
- General knowledge of switching technologies, routing, and IP protocol
- Strong understanding of telecommunications OBF practices and terminologies, with an understanding of Telcordia coding and ASR ordering guidelines
- Traffic analysis (preferred)
