WGME CBS13 / WPFO FOX 23, in Portland, Maine, is a trusted brand providing Maine viewers with local news, weather, sports, entertainment, and social media content. We help grow the most talented people in television. You have an opportunity to work with a team filled with spirit, passion and imagination. We have an exciting opportunity for an aggressive, energetic, and creative part-time News Desk Assignment Editor to join our winning team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• gathering news affecting the community
• assisting in the efficient operation of the assignment desk
• running teleprompter in news studio during various newscasts
• make daily calls to various law enforcement and agencies
• able to drive to courthouse and other facilities to pick up documents, tapes and other needed materials
• update news ticker
• valid driver's license

Required skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy
• ability to communicate effectively
• basic computer knowledge/word processing skills
• general knowledge and interest in local, national and world news
• ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• proficiency with Facebook, Twitter and emerging social media
