Public Affairs Trainee

We are seeking highly motivated, career-oriented entry-level professionals for full-time, paid internships. We are committed to preparing our Public Affairs Trainees for successful careers in advocacy, government, business, marketing, public relations and public affairs. Candidates will provide support across client accounts, with job responsibilities that may include:

• Conducting research for new business proposals and existing campaigns
• Creating and/or updating existing stakeholder, influencer and media lists by identifying new and relevant contacts
• Monitoring for relevant news coverage across client portfolio, as well as participating in sentiment monitoring via social media
• Assisting with development of written materials, such as digital communications, letters to the editor, stakeholder communications, etc.
• Proofreading documents for staff members
• Assisting in the development of presentations

Full-time candidates must be able to make a three-month commitment. Ideal candidates will:

• Possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, English, etc.)
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Have a proven ability to work quickly and decisively to meet deadlines, troubleshoot and manage multiple projects at once
• Contribute to office organization
• Maintain high level of professionalism with clients and co-workers

Kivvit trainees will be paid a competitive monthly salary. Kivvit prefers full-time trainees with a commitment of 40 hours per week. Trainees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for medical insurance coverage. The trainee program runs between three to four months with the possibility to extend.
