As a Public Cloud Operations Lead - Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, within the Consumer and Community Bank, Infrastructure and Production Management Team, you will utilize your strong knowledge of software, applications, operations and infrastructure engineering to lead a global, high-impact team of cloud engineers in the management, maintenance, troubleshooting of the public cloud environment.
Job responsibilities

  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing a public cloud environment at scale, with a strong emphasis on the foundational services of AWS
  • Display expertise in an application development and support environment with more than one technology and multiple design techniques
  • Developed advanced knowledge of development toolsets to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software
  • Deep experience in observability, monitoring, alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, AppDynamics, and Splunk
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices, with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platform
  • Fluency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible, Java Spring Boot, Shell Scripting, .Net, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, risk controls and compliance to departmental and company-wide standards and budget management
  • Demonstrated collaboration with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Strong knowledge of utilizing processes, tools, and solutions to drive continuous improvement and support growth objectives


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Infrastructure concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Provide public cloud thought leadership to application and mission control teams during active production incidents
  • Resolve provisioning and/or environment configuration challenges
  • Proactively review public cloud environment hygiene
  • Assess impacts based of anticipated cloud service changes or disruptions
  • Actively monitor and measure key cloud metrics to understand trends and potential actions
  • Work to reduce toil through automation and process improvement
  • Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale
  • Execute conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
  • Partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential risks and remediation's
  • Consider upstream and downstream data, systems, and technical implications


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS associate and/or professional level certifications
  • Experience managing and operating, large scale, mission critical applications
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Experience with logging systems including Splunk or ELK
  • Experience developing process, tooling and methods to help improve operational maturity
  • Experience working in an agile environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence
