Summary
This job opportunity is for an PUBLIC HEALTH TECHNICIAN, position description D1723000 , within the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.
The primary purpose of this position is to achieve and maintain Force Health Protection through planning, evaluating, and management principles related to epidemiological, operational, and occupational and public health programs.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment is required. Selected member must be able to attain the required Public Health AFSC (4EXXX) within one (1) year of selection.. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
Areas of Consideration: CAT 3
- All New Jersey National Guard members
Military Grades: Minimum E-4/ SRA to Maximum E-7 MSGT
Additional Requirements:
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Qualifications
Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to occupational health programs.
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 18 months experience, education, or training in the following:
- A working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of occupational health programs
- Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems
- Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in occupational health programs
- Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity

Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
