Job Summary
As the Public Relations Coordinator here at Shinola, you will play an integral part in supporting efforts to maintain a positive image for the brand by fostering strong relationships, and assisting with company events, communication, and initiatives. A successful candidate is an exceptional communicator, a curious learner, takes initiative, and can work in a rapidly growing, international organization, working with colleagues across business units, functions, and geographies. Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Product Launch Support:
Support the Director of PR to:
- Align PR strategy with company messaging
- Create pitches/press releases for launches, announcements
- Create short and long lead annual pitch calendar
- Identify advertorial/event sponsorship opportunities for the brand
- Coordinate spokespersons’ interviews and meetings with press
- Create and update national and regional press lists
- Handle incoming media requests
- Continuously update PR documentation
- Work with stylists on product placement
- Manage sample requests and sample tracking
- Facilitate image requests with the Manager of Affiliate and Digital Marketing
Regional Agency Management
- Be the point of contact of the PR agencies to accommodate daily/ incoming PR requests
- Monitor the KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis
- Supply agencies with pitches/materials
- Support event coordination, create invites
- Coordinate interviews with brand spokespeople when needed
Event Coordination
- Support hotel on PR/Brand initiatives
- Provide brand/product roll-out when needed LR
- Coordinate press appointments during 2-3 market weeks per year + Couture (key press list, press materials, gifting, catering, reporting, and new sample tracking
- Coordinate the execution of PR events
- Coordination of Press trips to Detroit and other PR/ Brand Events
Brand Awareness
- Contribute to identify and screen speaking opportunities and panels for executives and prepare presentations
- Research to help identify opportunities to bring brand awareness to Shinola
General Administrative Duties
- Monitor PR/Product requests that come through the PR agency or through the customer service or [email protected] in collaboration with the Manager of Affiliate and Digital Marketing
- Support on the Affiliate Program
- Clip Monitoring
- Work with the PR agency on coordination of clip reports,
- Distribute daily key clips
- Create gifting lists and accommodate gift shipping along with thank you notes to key contacts around key moments and holidays
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Science in Management with a Major in Marketing/ Communications
- Master’s degree is a plus
- 1+ years work experience in a related discipline
- Prior experience in PR and knowledge in Media/ Communications and Marketing. Familiarity with fashion, lifestyle, arts and culture and trade publications and writers
- Press releases
- International experience/ background is a plus
