Position Description
The Public Relations Manager or Director position, reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, will serve as the key media relations professional to maximize brand storytelling and press opportunities for Origis Energy, its business units and the company’s growing pipeline and portfolio of clean energy projects. The Manager/Director will oversee implementation of PR strategies to help increase brand awareness, manage issues & crisis communications, PR event support, positive image, and engagement with target audiences. They will also work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications, and senior leadership, to provide guidance on media relations topics, producing and managing reports, and recommending public and media relations strategies. The role will also support social media activities for the company.
The Public Relations Manager or Director is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy public relations plans for Origis Energy and as well as the company’s business units to support growth
- Provide public relations support for project communications including coordinating with select customer teams to support customer and company project communication goals.
- Shape and execute a cohesive narrative strategy across the company; pitch story ideas that align with the company’s business priorities, goals and brand positioning.
- Oversee media relations and story pitching
- Press release and related campaign copywriting
- Fulfill analyst quarterly reporting requirements, including monitoring Origis profiles on key analyst platforms.
- Monitor media mentions and industry trends and initiatives via Origis subscribed platform, report out on media mentions and press campaign results.
- Work with the marketing team on social media strategies; place and monitor via Origis subscribed social media platform, and report out on key results.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align launches, initiatives, and corporate milestones with PR opportunities
- Think strategically and respond quickly to media related inquiries within an approved internal approval process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, corporate partners, and industry communication channels
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling content for social media, potentially also for web assets and other marketing assets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and/or Communications
- Strong organizational, people, writing and media skills
- Minimum 5 years in Public Relations capacity
- Renewable energy, utility, or other relevant industry experience

Location   San Diego, CA preferred | Remote considered for the right candidate
Travel   Up to 25% travel required as necessary
