We are looking for an ambitious PR Manager to help facilitate, manage, and advance external communications and thought leadership at DigitalOcean. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, the PR Manager will lead external communications initiatives for product launches, thought leadership, speaking, and awards. As a member of the communications team, you will contribute to ensuring the right messages reach the right audiences at the right times.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support facilitation of external communications and thought leadership within DO, including media relations and coordination of media interviews, tracking and reporting of results, drafting materials as needed, and coordination of approvals of contributed content (bylines, media Q&As, etc.) awards and speaking with subject matter experts, legal, IR, and any other internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the overall external strategic communication planning for the company and ensure there's a steady cadence of product and infrastructure news in the pipeline.
- Create new and improve existing communications channels for driving messaging to reach external audiences.
- Work with stakeholders to brainstorm and contribute new engaging communication campaigns or opportunities that support initiatives within product and infrastructure groups at DO.
- Support the measurement and evaluation of all external communication efforts.
- Document and update systems and processes to supplement and strengthen our external communications playbook.
What We'll Expect From You:
- 3-5 years experience in an external communications or media relations role.
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and extremely organized with strong documentation skills.
- Creative mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An excitement to work on high-visibility projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A love for tracking data and defining new metrics.
- A passion for technology, development, and the cloud.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

- We reward our employees . (The base salary range for this position is between $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 based on relevant years of experience and skills. The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S..) Employees may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
