As a Public Involvement Specialist, you will coordinate, plan, organize, and implement public outreach efforts and programs.
Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
- Develop and execute strategic communications and outreach plans in local and outside markets
- Produce and distribute content for public information materials, including flyers, door hangers, websites, newsletters, mass and social media, presentations, exhibit boards, maps, etc.
- Work with in-house graphic design team to create print and digital collateral
- Plan and execute special events including public meetings and hearings, open houses, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project tours
- Manage public email and hotline accounts including responding to inquiries as needed
- Support business objectives including new/existing proposals, scopes of work and cost estimates
- Participate in team meetings with Horrocks staff
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- 3-6 years of professional experience in a similar industry
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, etc.
- Experience in public/media relations and/or community engagement/public involvement strategies is a plus
- Must possess the ability to work and collaborate with team members, clients, and the public
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, self-starter
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint - Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
