- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position is subject to shift work. Incumbent is required to work an alternate work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays. Subject to callback, on call and mandatory overtime as mission requires.
- Incumbent is required to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions, Terrorist Force Protection Condition (TFPCON) or installation closure and to report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled time.
- Newly hired personnel are required to obtain and maintain the certifications outlined in this section within one year of employment. Supervisor may adjust timeframe depending upon funding and training availability.
- The incumbent is required to possess and maintain certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch System approved for and in use by the installation IAW DoDI 6605.06 and National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA)1061.
- The incumbent is required to possess and maintain certification in CPR, DoD Hazardous Materials Awareness, DoD Telecommunications I/II, ALERTS, NCIC, and Wisconsin Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TIME).
- TDY up to 10% required.
- The incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
- The work is performed in a highly stressful, restricted office environment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which involves operating multi-line telephones, computers or radio equipment to provide information to callers; obtaining detailed information from callers and inputting data collected into databases and software systems; communicating orally to a wide range of people to obtain and provide information; and complying with standard operating procedures in a fast-paced and changing environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Fire Science or Communications.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
