Pulsed Power Engineer
Job Description
Our tight-knit team is looking for an engineer eager to help us find solutions in electromagnetics. If you're a curious problem solver looking for a role where you might be designing a system this month, writing reports next month, and getting your shoes dirty with on-site testing the following month, a position on our team might be for you.
Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) Algorithms, Modeling, and Assessments (AMA) division has an outstanding opportunity for an engineer to support a multi-disciplined team that provides electromagnetic design, development, and testing services. In this role, you will support large-scale high-power electromagnetics (EM) tests, help design EM shields, and develop new EM technologies.
Our team focuses on research and development projects that allow the creative application of engineering knowledge to solve challenging electromagnetics problems. We specialize in electromagnetic pulse simulation and analysis, and we build tools to test and evaluate its effects.
To do this, we use 3D modeling software to design hardening solutions and test prototype systems. We also perform large-scale field testing and process data that we use with our customers to make recommendations on survivability.
This position requires travel between 10%-20% time to conduct testing at remote sites using specialized equipment. This position is on-site in San Antonio, TX.
