Position Summary
The Purchasing Coordinator/Purchasing Specialist is primarily responsible for arranging for the purchase of equipment, supplies, and services on behalf of Wintrust Technology, ensuring proper documentation is prepared and authorized prior to initiating procurement. The purchasing coordinator works with numerous vendors to achieve optimal pricing, following a strict budget and keeping records of all the transactions.
What You'll Do
- Research and Evaluate pricing i.e. cost, selection, service, availability, delivery timeframes, etc.
- Works with teams throughout IT to obtain SOWs and other purchase documentation to prepare purchase orders.
- Create and send purchase orders - ensures order is exactly as desired in terms of quantity, pricing, model numbers, etc. Particularly important for large orders with multiple line items. Generate reporting from Service Now on the status of open items and provide update on daily basis.
- Monitor purchases through delivery - tracking and dealing with any delays, errors, last minute changes, provide allocation of carrier invoices, additional follow-up to bring PO to completed status, etc.
- Evaluate vendor performance vs other vendors in terms of ability to deliver, flexibility, pricing, and "ease to work with".
- Ordering of office supplies for all IT departments
- Follow-up on renewal orders
- Service Now Procurement orders status updates and follow-up on various issues
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-7 years of related experience.
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office Products.
