Position Summary:Â
PV Designers are a critical part of the solar installation process. PV Designers create solar designs to be installed on residential homes, as well as preparing professional documentation for various jurisdictions nationwide. Designers must communicate effectively with sales representatives, coworkers, and field technicians to ensure accurate installation across solar projects. They identify problems to create solutions with minimal direction and see them through to completion.
Essential Duties:Â
- Design solar projects using multiple programs and software, referencing structural, electrical and fire codes nationwideÂ
- Create permit applications for submission in different jurisdictionsÂ
- Make informed decisions to maximize solar potential on residential projectsÂ
- Communicate clearly with coworkers in office and in the field to ensure high quality solar installationsÂ
- Effectively use the available software: CRM, Excel, SiteCapture, AutoCAD, AuroraÂ
Minimum Qualifications:Â
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically ExcelÂ
- 1+ year(s) experience in PV design preferred or demonstrated interest in engineering topicsÂ
- Familiarity with residential electrical systems preferredÂ
- Experience with CAD software is a plus, experience with AutoCAD preferredÂ
- Thinking critically to discover and solve complex problemsÂ
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift officeÂ
products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closeÂ
vision and ability to adjust focus.Â
