Software Engineer - SQL/Python Engineer

Department: Enterprise Data - PSA, ERM

Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Summary

Barings' Enterprise Data Group is seeking an experienced SQL & Python Developer who also has experience designing and building software solutions.

You will work closely with business partners aligned with the Quants in the Portfolio Solutions & Analytics (PSA) and Enterprise Risk teams to translate business requirements to technology solutions.

This position will report to the IT Head of the PSA & ERM Value Stream.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of an Agile Scrum Team.
• Developing and maintain relationships with business partners.
• Work with business partners to translate requirements into actionable stories in technology terms and implement solutions
• Enhance and support of the existing solutions and platform
• Adhere to and implement good SDLC practices including testing, DevoOps pipelines etc

Primary Requirements

• Strong experience in using SQL Server including query tuning for large data sets
• Strong working knowledge of Python 3.7+ with particular experience using PySpark & Pandas
• Experience in collating and aggregating data from various data sources to produce insights and metrics
• Good working knowledge PowerBI
• Good understanding of SSRS
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with good troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge of investment data such as Portfolio, Benchmarks and ESG

Desired but not Essential Requirements

• Experience with developing analytical solutions in Azure DataBricks
• Good understanding of Asset Management Industry domain knowledge including the investment lifecycle.
