Python or GoLang Software Engineer - 2 days onsite (Chicago IL) - FreeWheel

• Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to gather requirements for components applications services platforms and other technical solutions.
• Possess hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS OCI Azure or GCP); with a good understanding of automation CI/CD pipelines infrastructure as code and cloud-native tools.
• Practical experience with a range of programming (Python Java JavaScript Go etc.) build (GitHub Bitbucket Maven etc.) containerization (Docker Kubernetes Podman etc.) database (PostgreSQL MySQL SQLite etc.) and collaboration tools (JIRA Confluence Trello).
• Build and scale measurement infrastructure for outcome-based optimization starting with lower-funnel use cases and expanding over time.
• Apply and improve attribution and performance models to quantify campaign outcomes and support reporting planning and optimization.
• Create solutions which bring measurement metrics into buying and selling workflows through robust APIs reporting and user interfaces.
• Support product capabilities such as universal pixel conversion APIs clean-room data real-time and batch processing and self-service measurement tools.
• Create automated unit and integration tests validating adherence to requirements and preventing escaped defects
• Develop an understanding of the larger (Freewheel) Engineering ecosystem contributing to "buy vs. build vs. broker" discussions.
• Ensure that delivered software solutions are scalable available and maintainable.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in languages such as Golang Python Node.js Rust or Scala.
• Demonstrated experience with microservices and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or EKS (AWS or OCI).
• Practical skill operating with at least one major cloud provider (e.g. AWS Azure GCP or OCI) including exposure to services like S3 EC2 Lambda IAM or their equivalents.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions or Terraform.
• Solid SQL skills with exposure to data platforms like Aerospike Snowflake Databricks Spark Presto or EMR.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog Prometheus or ELK stack.
• Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve technical issues within scoped features or components.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
• Ability to adapt and contribute in a fast-paced agile development environment.
• Interest or experience in the advertising or audience targeting domain is a plus but not required.
