Python/Django Developer with Data Science Engineering Experience

Avint LLC is looking for a versatile Python/Django Developer with a strong background in data science engineering to join our team on-site in our Herndon, VA office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications while also leveraging data science techniques to extract insights and optimize functionality. As a Python/Django Developer with Data Science Engineering experience, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that integrate data-driven features into our applications.

Position Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and the Django web framework.
• Implement data science algorithms and techniques to extract meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to integrate data science models and features into web applications.
• Develop and optimize APIs for data retrieval, processing, and storage.
• Work closely with front-end developers to integrate data visualization and analytics components.
• Ensure the security and privacy of sensitive data within the applications.
• Write and maintain unit tests to validate the functionality and performance of both web and data science components.
• Collaborate with other developers to troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring smooth deployment and operation of applications.
• Stay current with emerging data science and web development trends, incorporating relevant technologies into projects.
• Contribute to the documentation of code, data science models, and processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Python/Django Developer with a focus on data science engineering.

• Strong understanding of the Django web framework and Python programming language.
• Experience with data science libraries and frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Proficiency in implementing and deploying machine learning models.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and database management.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web development concepts.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration with web applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., D3.js, Matplotlib, Plotly).
• Understanding of distributed computing and big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark).
• Previous experience in agile development methodologies.
