QA Analyst 2

Job Description

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) is seeking a QA (Quality Assurance) Analyst 2 within our IE Product group.

About the Role

In this QA Analyst 2 opportunity, you will be:

• Actively participating in Sprint planning meeting, iteration review meeting, test case creation meetings and Defect Review meetings.
• Leading, guiding and monitoring the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites for end-to-end testing.
• Responsible for writing, executing, and debugging SQL queries to perform data completeness, correctness and data quality testing in enterprise data warehouse as part of ETL data migration.
• A test lead, actively involved in Data Migration in the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) environment.
• Analyzing defects and troubleshooting.

Additional aspects/functions of the role may include:

• Participate in lesson learned sessions for improvement of testing process. Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the QA process.
• Assist in creating standard operating procedures and metrics based on best practices for the QA team.
• Provide training on established processes, policies and tool sets to team members and others. Mentor less experienced individuals.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of systems development and/or business experience required.
• One (1) year of quality assurance experience required (5+ years preferred).
• Experience developing in Scala, Python, SQL.
• Experience in agile methodology (Sprint planning, test planning, estimating, design and execution) in Healthcare Domain.
• Hands-on experience working in Healthcare and Life Insurance domain projects and delivering the products on time without any schedule slippage.
• Experience in Tracking and reporting defects using defect tracking JIRA and/or ClearQuest.
• Well versed with various kinds of testing such as Database testing, ETL Functional testing, Regression testing, User Acceptance Testing, Integration testing and System testing and Load Testing.
• Expertise in various scenarios of ETL testing like Metadata testing, Data migration testing for full load and incremental load, SCD (slowly changing dimension) testing. Target Data duplication and data truncation.
• Experienced in developing Manual Test Scripts in MS Excel, Reviewing Test Scripts based on the requirements and preparation of consolidated Test Script Execution Results.
• Have good exposure to Software Development Life Cycle & Testing life cycle Process (specifically, Agile and Waterfall methodologies).
• Working knowledge of scheduling tools, such as Tivoli preferred
• Experience with Cognos (Version 8 or higher) preferred
• Prior Mainframe experience is a plus

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Expertise in writing SQL and Stored Procedures.
• Proficient in analyzing defects and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in writing, reviewing and executing test cases as per the schedule and identifying critical Test Scenarios while preparing detailed Test Cases.
• Ability to write detailed test cases based on requirements and design documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
