ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

Our 12 week summer internship program is an opportunity for students enrolled in a post-secondary education program to gain hands-on experience in the live event technology industry. This is a paid internship with a 40 hour a week schedule. Interns located near one of our physical locations (Dallas, Pittsburgh, Montreal) will work a hybrid schedule. Interns who are not, will work a completely remote schedule. The program is set to start on May 22,2023 and end on August 11, 2022.

As a Patron Technology intern, you will:

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

AS A QA ANALYST INTERN, YOU WILL:
  • Start your career and build upon your technical post-secondary education and software development experience.
  • You will be mentored by a highly-skilled team to master the most in-demand skills in Quality Assurance.
  • Learn and assist with test preparation, including participation in peer reviews, test environment setup, identification of pre-conditions, and test plan documentation and review.
  • Assist with performing manual test execution (including, but not limited to: functional, regression, and integration testing), identifying defects, and conducting root cause analysis of the issues discovered.
  • Learn to document defects with steps to reproduce and assist with triaging them through the defect lifecycle.
  • Work within and across our customer service, development, and product teams to validate products and find new and interesting ways to break those products.
  • Learn about quality metrics and assist with reporting with insight into the status and health of our products, including the logging or tracking of both manual and automated efforts.
  • Review and collect feedback on test plans and test cases from internal stakeholders, including product owner(s), to allow the team to collectively assess use case and edge case coverage.
  • Collaborate with product owners to develop an understanding of user stories and use-cases to formulate test approaches, write test plans, and effectively analyze outcomes.
  • Learn and assist senior QA Analysts with developing and maintaining test scripts using Selenium/Appium or similar tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to technical computing or programming.
  • Motivated to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable collaborating with Engineering and Product teams.
  • Referenced education projects where you can demonstrate some related Software development/computer/technical skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
BONUS POINTS:
  • Familiarity with software testing and the SDLC process. 
  • Developing Test Plans using tools such as TestRail.
  • Familiarity with Agile principles.
  • Educational knowledge of relational databases (understanding structure and ability to query via SQL).
  • Some understanding of web architecture / educational knowledge with web development

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Patron Technology requires all Event Operations employees and contractors who will be representing the company at a client event to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to attending. Exemptions are determined by the event organizer. Employees are not required to be fully vaccinated to be present at an office facility.
