Position: QA Analyst/Software Tester

Job Family: Exempt

Client: Defense Health Agency (DHA)

Work Location: Hybrid, San Antonio, TX - JBSA Fort Sam Houston

Daily schedule: 40 hours per week, standard business hours

Expected Pay Rate: $38/hr to $53/hr, negotiable.

Start: anticipated March 13th, 2023

Duration: Contract through September 27th, 2023, likely extension

Notes: No C2C, must be W2 employee of Idea Entity, must be US Citizen

We are looking for a QA Analyst/Software Tester who will assume a key role on our team. Some responsibilities include understanding our platform, improving QA methods, and mentoring other team members. This role requires hands-on QA/QC expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes.

This individual will support the objectives of the Surgeon General and the DHA principles within Resource Management, the RM office has been tasked to provide enduring and adaptable internal business solutions in various areas within DHA. To do this, the Resource Management office requires a unique set of skillsets and dedicated CME to perform these business process initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly evaluates and leads the software products quality assurance according to the business standards or function requirements.
  • Establishes and evolves formal QA methods, ensuring that the team is using best practices.
  • Drives all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Isolates, reproduces, and tracks complex defects and verifies fixes.
  • Develops and executes test cases, scripts, plans, procedures, and quality assurance criterions for ensuring the software products meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
  • Acts as the information resource for others in the assigned areas.
  • May assist in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for software product development.
  • Manage deployments to test environments and testing schedules and timelines.
  • Collaborates with development teams to stay informed of new technologies and features being introduced.
  • Responds to all requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years' experience in software quality management including prior hands-on quality engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, and procedures to support various disciplined agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with entire software development life cycle (SDLC) and test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress, etc.).
  • Understanding of existing QA/QC best practices and methodologies to design and automate QA/QC processes.
  • Experience coordinating with external resources.
  • Working experience testing for accessibility, responsiveness, and usability.
  • Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found.
  • Ability to manage testing of multiple product versions in multiple test environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records/Electronic Medical Records (EHR/EMR)
  • Prior DoD experience
