Job Description
Today, 60 million Americans work independently, and that trend is only accelerating. But benefits are tightly coupled with full-time, W2-based jobs. As a result, the millions of Americans who work independently are excluded from that financial safety net.
Stride is the world’s first benefits platform built specifically for contractors, part-timers, and the self-employed. We provide them all the same benefits you’d expect from a W2 job, like insurance, tax support, and discounts on products and services. In fact, since launching in 2014, Stride has helped more than 3 million Americans save more than $3 billion.
We’re partnered with the top employers of non-benefited workers, including DoorDash, Uber, Postmates, MasterCard, Amazon, Aon, and Willis Towers Watson. We’re backed with over $96 million in capital by Venrock, New Enterprise Associates, Fidelity’s F-Prime Capital Partners, King River Capital, Mastercard, and Allstate.
And we’re growing! While we started off exclusively serving non-benefited workers, other companies in our space started knocking on our door to tailor our platform for their customers. Now we need outstanding people (like you!) to help us reach our mission and improve access to affordable benefits for all.
You’ll be part of a cross-functional product engineering team working on and testing Stride’s core user-facing web application. You’ll help raise release confidence and delivery performance by writing test automation scripts, executing on test plans, and working with your team to deliver high quality products for our end users.
We’re passionate about reducing friction between our users and finding the health benefits they need to live healthy happy lives, and this role will play a critical role in this mission. You’ll have a great opportunity for impact with your team as you’ll have a foundational voice in how we create and shape the testing process in our organization and for our team.
Responsibilities:
Provide functional and regression quality testing for Stride’s health benefits products and services
Build QA test plans and cases with the goal of maximizing automation wherever possible
Be a part of a positive and inclusive culture that is hyper-focused on cultivating engineer growth and learning
Collaborate with design, product, and engineering on requirements and struggles, translating them into functional, regression test cases
Contribute to QA automation test cases using appropriate tooling and automation strategies
Collaborate closely with the engineers on the team to estimate level of effort, building in quality and confidence in every feature we release
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of QA Experience
2+ years of automation testing experience
Experience in manual testing of user interfaces and backend systems
Experience using Javascript to write E2E or integration tests in at least one testing framework like Cypress or Puppeteer
Ability to work cross-functionally, with designers, product, and engineers through the delivery process
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
A passion for testing consumer-facing websites
A willingness and ability to work in and bring clarity to ambiguous situations and tasks
Can communicate their work with clarity and in a way that both engineers and non-engineers understand
Previous experience working in a growing start-up environment
A tenacious attention to detail
We’re excited that you’re looking to Stride for your next leadership opportunity. We take that decision seriously and want to provide you with an opportunity where you can grow meaningfully in your career. We support a fully remote work structure, with bi-annual company retreats and opportunities to collaborate in-person with your teams in between, as necessary. In the meantime, you can check out our Built In and The Muse profiles!
