What You’ll Do:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the Spotter Quality Assurance process from the ground up. As QA Engineer/Lead, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from beginning to end, including test planning, test automation, writing test cases, and working with Product and Engineering teams to test new products and features. You will also help to define best practices for Spotter Quality Assurance. Priorities often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Write test cases and test all layers of software applications for mobile and desktop users
  • Strong experience with automation tools such as Postman, Cypress, etc.
  • Experience with SQL querying and other relational databases
  • Analyze bugs and errors found during tests
  • Oversee monitoring of all QA activities and test results by regularly reviewing and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Work with developers to make hard-to-test features more testable
  • Foster a collaborative approach to quality assurance and testing and coordinate test efforts across multiple sprint teams
  • Define and institute quality processes and standards within software development teams. Ensure quality best practices are implemented and followed 
  • Help establish product quality by monitoring test effort and test effectiveness across teams. Provide metrics and other information on project status to upper management
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years QA experience, with 5+ years of software/SaaS quality assurance; experience testing all layers of software application, back-end and integration testing strongly preferred
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related experience
  • Excellent written/spoken English
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Demonstrated skills with QA methodologies, software development lifecycle, and problem solving
  • Experience with Jira or similar case management/ticket solution
  • Capacity to create and implement innovative testing procedures and materials
  • 2+ years experience as a team lead (desirable)
