A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

• Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web applications and API using tools and frameworks such as Karate, Selenium, Rest Assured , or similar.
• Test Planning: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases.
• Defect Reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira. Work with the development team to reproduce, analyze, and resolve defects.
• Test Execution: Perform manual testing to ensure that all aspects of the application are tested thoroughly.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving test processes, methodologies, and tools. Provide feedback on test coverage and quality improvements.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise test documentation, including test cases, test results, and test plans.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers and other team members to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and other team activities

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 2-6 years of experience in software testing and/or test automation.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Karate, Selenium, Rest Assured). Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Learning Agility: Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies. Eagerness to grow within the field of software testing and quality assurance.
