Quality Assurance Engineer (Early Careers)

Location: Incline Village and Reno, NV

Jumpstart your career at Ridgeline! Ridgeline’s Early Career program is intended for those with less than 2 years of relevant work experience or for recent graduates from university or other continuing education programs. As a Ridgeline Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll have the unique opportunity to help test high-quality, creative enterprise business applications in a fast-moving, progressive work environment. You’ll collaborate with the design, development, and product management teams to build well-organized and creative test plans, and you’ll work to help keep those teams accountable and on the same page. Attention to detail and communication will be your personal power source.  

Key Expectations

• Derive detailed test cases that test the product thoroughly until it is consumer ready
• Think creatively, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills pertaining to a product malfunction, and exercise innovative ways to ‘break’ the product 
• Contribute meaningfully to a team-based environment deeply rooted in continuous learning, teaching, and sharing information
• Write automated end-to-end tests via Testcafe, Cypress,  and Javascript (no previous JS knowledge required)
• API testing, Karate and/or Java knowledge 
• Be an active, curious participant and listener in daily meetings and discussions
• Contribute to a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency

Desired Skills and Experience

• Relevant work experience and/or recent completion of a degree/program in computer science, math, finance, accounting, or other related disciplines
• Demonstrate initiative and improvisation when testing from multiple user perspectives
• Juggle many different things at once, applying high-level time-management in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspective
• An aptitude for problem solving
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
• Serious interest in having fun at work

Nice-To-Haves

• Background in integrations or test-driven development
• Test automation experience 
• Experience with Google Apps 
• Comfortable working with Slack, Atlassian/JIRA, AWS, Invision, or Bitbucket
• Basic understanding of JavaScript or Python
• Familiarity with test planning
• Ability to participate in our company band (vocals/bass preferred but tambourine will work)
